Local Advisory Board
I am currently National Director of Academies Finance for a large multi academy trust and have worked in various education finance and operational roles for 18 years and have 7 years experience as a school governor and academy board trustee. As a parent of children at the school I hope these experiences can support the school in providing the best education for mine and every child in the school and community.
I am Vice-Chair of the Local Advisory Board with areas of responsibility including Health and Safety, Compliance and auditing the School’s Website. I have over 15 years of Primary School Governance experience including 3 years as Vice-Chair and 8 years as Chair. I am a Director of a local company and have previously worked in both Local Authorities and Universities.
Hello, my name is Reverend Pat Gillian and I am an Ex-officio Governor at St Anne’s School. I am an Associate Priest in the Church of England Team of Churches in Saddleworth with Pastoral responsibility for St Anne’s Church Lydgate. Within this role I have taken on the role of Governor at St Anne’s school with my responsibilities for (SIAMS) Statutory Inspections of Anglican and Methodist Schools and (PSHCE) Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education. I am always happy to be available to talk with parents and children on pastoral issues.
I’m a recently retired nurse who has had a variety of experience working in the NHS and local council with older people services, district nursing and in my latter years, working in the Public Health Dept leading on Health Protection for Oldham residents.
Whilst I have no children of my own, I have always been interested in my family and friends children’s education and schooling as I know how much a positive experience shapes their lives and future. Therefore, it’s a privilege to be involved with the governor role especially concentrating my skills on the Safeguarding and SEND agenda.
As a mother of 3 children, one of which has been through St Anne’s, one currently at the school and one who will hopefully attend in the future, my role of parent governor enables me to reflect on the past, focus on the present and anticipate the future.
As a teacher myself, I am able to support and challenge the school, enabling us all to strive for a high quality provision and education for all of our children.
The progress made and well-being of all children is my main priority whilst having a parental viewpoint.
My passion is early years and the foundation stage of children’s learning. I strongly believe once this is taught and delivered properly, children have the ability to grow, thrive and achieve. From a parent perspective, I can see our school fulfils this which creates a building block for the children and sets the time for our children’s future learning.
It is an honour to be part of St Anne’s CE Lydgate Primary school and its governance.
I started working at St Anne's Lydgate in September 2023, after working at another Forward As One School as an Associate Hub Learning & Teaching lead. Currently, I oversee teaching, learning and curriculum at the school. I hold the National Professional Qualification in Leading Behaviour and Culture and facilitate this, and other programmes, for Learn with FA1 - the professional development branch of our Multi-Academy Trust.
I have taught in both Key Stage 1 and 2 and am passionate about building an engaging, well-sequenced curriculm that will excite our children as well as setting them up for long-term success. I also value the importance of promoting reading and writing for pleasure, as reading is the key that opens the rest of the curriculum.
