W.C 9th September 2024

During our first week of Year 3, we used concrete equipment to unpick numbers to 100 and to represent them in different ways. We also used our new orienteering maps to uncover new information about our class text and during our PE slot. In history, we had an archaeological dig.

w.c. 16th September 2024

This week we have been partitioning numbers and using our APE to explain our understanding of place value and number. We have been on a school trip to Running Hill Pit and will write a recount about our visit. In history, we explored primary sources to discuss how we know the Stone Age happened.

W.c. 23rd September 2024

This week we went to church for Experience Harvest. We learnt about different ways humans harvest the earth. We presented our learning at the church service in front of the whole school and church community. We have also learnt more about the Stone Age and how they advanced from Palaeolithic to Mesolithic and then Neolithic. In English, we explored conjunctions in detail ready for our recount write up.  In music, we thought about the story ‘Giraffes can’t dance’ and improvised our own pieces of music using pictures from the text to inspire us. We wrote our improvisations using notations and symbols agreed by our group.
